FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (June 10, 2021) —The Fayetteville Advertising & Promotion Commission has approved a contract between Experience Fayetteville and Medalist Sports. The race partner will manage production of the 2021 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup in October and the 2022 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in January, two key events of the UCI international cyclo-cross calendar.
Based out of Georgia, Medalist Sports has decades of experience in the promotion and production of international, world-class, professional cycling events, and was part of the team that managed the 2013 UCI World Cyclo-cross Championships in Louisville, Kentucky, the first world championships of the discipline awarded by cycling’s worldwide governing body the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to the United States. Medalist Sports has an extensive resume in the sport of cycling, having produced such legendary events as the 2015 UCI Road World Championships in Richmond, VA, Tour DuPont, Tour de Georgia, Amgen Tour of California and the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah. Current clients include the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, the Cleveland Clinic, Sport and Entertainment Corporation of Maryland, MS Society of Canada, USA Cycling and many more.

Medalist Sports and Experience Fayetteville will work together to ensure a safe and welcoming event for all riders, teams and spectators as well as the ongoing logistics of both events.
The UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup will be held Oct. 13 at Centennial Park in Fayetteville. Also being held at Centennial Park, the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships are slated for Jan. 28-30, 2022. This will be only the second time the Championships have been held in the United States, and the event is estimated to have a total global audience of 52 million viewers, according to UCI.

The UCI World Championships weekend will be part of a multi-day festival for both new fans and diehard cyclo-cross spectators from around the world. The race will be the pinnacle of a weekend filled with activities and events that showcase Northwest Arkansas.
